This gorgeous app will find the right subtitles for any movie or show

Few things infuriate me as easily as having picked the wrong subtitles for a movie – and finding the right ones could often be a malware-ridden hassle. But this gorgeous app turns this frustrating process into a child’s play.
Built by Dutch developer Giel Cobben, Caption is a nifty app for desktop that lets you find and download the right subtitles for any movie or television show you want to see. What is particularly handy about Caption is that it will also automatically rename the subtitles so they match the title of the movie.

The app also comes with a neat ‘drag and drop’ feature that allows you to effortlessly find and download subtitles by dropping the file inside Caption. All you need to do once Caption has identified the right subtitles is double-click on the file to play the video – with the captions already integrated.

The best thing about the app is that it also supports a wide variety of languages, so you can easily find captions in your local language.
While Caption is currently only available for macOS, Cobben says he’s working on a cross-platform solution and promises the app will land on other operating systems too.

Autonomous passenger drones will fly you across Dubai starting this July

If you haven’t yet been to Dubai, this summer might be a good time to visit. Starting this July, the largest city in the United Arab Emirates will see people traveling across its skies in single-passenger drones.That’s according to Mattar al-Tayer, the chairman and executive director of Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), who announced the plan at the ongoing World Government Summit.

He didn’t reveal further details like whether the drones will be up for sale or if a fleet will be available to hire. What we do know is that they are part of Dubai’s strategy to facilitate a quarter of all journeys within the Emirate through autonomous vehicles by 2030.
To make this happen, the RTA will employ Chinese firm Ehang’s 184, which is the world’s first passenger drone. It’s capable of a range of about 30 miles on a single charge and can carry one person weighing up to 220 lbs, as well as a small suitcase. The entire flight is managed by a command center; all you need to do is hop in and choose from the list of predetermined destinations where you can land.

Ehang first showed off its passenger drone last January at CES and received clearance to test the vehicle in Nevada in August 2016. However, the 184 won’t be seen ferrying passengers in the US until it’s cleared for use by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA).
So if you want to ride an autonomous drone before that, Dubai is your best bet. Al-Tayer is confident that the system is ready for prime-time: “This is not only a model. We have actually experimented with this vehicle flying in Dubai’s skies.”
